Each week we highlight a piece of equipment from the Josephine Nefkens Program.
This weeks equipment: the Metafer! The Metafer system is a specialized microscope that can be used for automated analysis of metaphase spreads from a variety of cell types, specifically derived from tumor tissues. It is a true work-horse, that allows a first identification of chromosome abnormalities in large numbers at a relatively low resolution, followed by high resolution analysis on selected metaphase spreads.
If you are interested in using the instrument, contact Arnab Ray Chaudhuri (a.raychaudhuri@erasmusmc.nl).
